Tatiana Andreyeva
Director of Economic Initiatives
Dr. Tatiana Andreyeva is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Director of Economic Initiatives at the UConn Rudd Center for Food Policy and Health. Her research on food policy and child nutrition focuses on the role of economic incentives in food choices and diet, with an emphasis on fiscal policy (taxes and subsidies) and federal food assistance programs. Dr. Andreyeva’s main areas of expertise are in economic evaluation of food policy changes, child nutrition programs, assessment of the food environment in food stores, communities and child care settings, and obesity cost analysis. She is an expert in quantifying the potential impact of sugary drink taxes on beverage consumption and tax revenue, including work on the often-cited Rudd Center tax revenue calculator.
Recently completed projects include an evaluation of Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) on academic and health outcomes and school meal costs, a systematic literature review and meta-analysis of fiscal policies on foods and non-alcoholic beverages and a nationwide assessment of center participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). She is currently working on a study to assess changes in infant feeding practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Andreyeva earned her Ph.D. in Policy Analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School.
