Sarah McKee

Postdoctoral Fellow

Sarah McKee, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the Rudd Center for Food Policy & Health, working with Dr. Marlene Schwartz on studies involving child care centers’ implementation of policies designed to promote healthier environments for children, the role of emergency food systems in promoting health equity, and evaluation of schools’ implementation of wellness policies.

Sarah earned her doctoral degree from the University of Connecticut’s Human Development and Family Sciences program, specializing in health and well-being. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Sarah is interested in studying how people make decisions about eating and other health-related behaviors. Interdisciplinary research examining external factors (such as behavioral nudges, interpersonal relationships, and built environments) that influence healthy and unhealthy behaviors is of special interest to her, as she hopes this research can lead to the development of better interventions to make it easier for children and adults from all socioeconomic backgrounds to lead healthier lives.
