Kara Burkholder is a Research Assistant for the Rudd Center for Food Policy & Health, working with Dr. Marlene Schwartz on projects related to school nutrition programs. Kara is a Master in Public Health student at UConn Health’s Public Health program. She received her B.A. in Food, Culture, and Health Individualized Major at the University of Connecticut. Kara is interested in studying school nutrition programs, as well as food insecurity and ways in which it can be combatted on a community-based level.
