Rudd Alumni: Maia Hyary
Maia Hyary is a PhD student in Social Policy at Brandeis University. Her research aims to identify policy options for improving the nutritional quality of foods donated to food banks and pantries.
As a Research Associate at the Rudd Center from 2013-2017, Maia worked with Director Marlene Schwartz to evaluate a public health campaign to limit sugary drink consumption in Howard County, Maryland. As a member of the center’s Food Marketing team, she worked with Marketing Initiatives Director Jennifer Harris to study the marketing of snacks in schools and used syndicated Internet exposure data to quantify the marketing of food and beverages online. Maia completed her Master’s of Public Administration in Health Policy Analysis from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
