Rudd Alumni: Amy Heard
Amy Heard, M.A. is currently a doctoral student in clinical psychology at Loyola University Chicago and a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellow. Her research focuses on the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity, as well as the biological, environmental, and psychological correlates of obesity.
While at the Rudd Center, Amy worked under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Harris, Director of Marketing Initiatives, investigating the impact of the food environment on weight gain and health status. Building off of this work, Amy's NSF-funded research focuses on the impact of unhealthy food marketing on self-control. Before working at the Rudd Center, Amy completed her bachelor's degree at Washington University in St. Louis.
