Faculty & Staff: Caitlin Caspi, ScD

Sally Mancini

Dr. Caspi completed her ScD at the Harvard School of Public Health in social epidemiology. Prior to joining the Rudd Center, Dr. Caspi worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota since 2014. Her research evaluates policies and partnership-driven interventions to address food insecurity, obesity, and diet-related health disparities. She currently serves as the Principal Investigator on an NIH-funded group-randomized study evaluating the impact a behavioral economic intervention (SuperShelf) in food pantries on dietary outcomes of adults experiencing food insecurity. Another NIH-funded natural experiment tests the effect of the Minneapolis Minimum Wage Ordinance on diet-related measures and obesity. Her other recent work has addressed the social determinants of health in the clinical setting, including a food insecurity screen-and-intervene study in the pediatric emergency department.
